Investigation Discovery – Davis and Springer and the Lies

Your producers should be ashamed of him/her selves.  Just in the preview that I have seen of your show on your website that includes Mr Davis and author Patricia Springer, there is incorrect information.  That, from an investigators point of view, is abhorrent. You seek to continue the many lies about this case in having Patricia Springer on your show stating that the knife went through Devon Rush Routier and into the carpet and concrete underneath his body.  Your producer did not bother to research any of the information to see whether or not what you were going to be portraying to your viewers was fact.  Do I have to show the autopsy photographs of Devon Routier to your researcher to prove my point that you have your facts wrong?

Do I really, really need to send you a photograph of a deceased child to prove to you that there are no knife exit wounds in his back?  It seems that I do, but how about I post it here so the entire world can see the lies that your show puts out there to infuriates and heighten the disgust, hate and anger of your viewers.  It does not matter to you that Darlie Routier just might be innocent.

Do your researchers know how to research a case?  Do they know how to find out if information is correct or incorrect?  Do they know how to find someone to speak on a show using facts, not the garbage that Patricia Springer is spouting?   The autopsy report is available.  The fact the Patricia Springer wrote that in her book and continues the lie to this very day, even though the evidence in the autopsy report, proves what she is saying to be an absolute LIE, I find it disgusting that you decided to put forward her lies in regard to this case in your show.  Is the truth so ‘boring’ that your show won’t have it’s audiences thinking ‘wow, kill her now’  factor without the lies being included?

What is it going to take, Ms Springer?  What is it going to take for you to speak the truth, rather than continue to back up the lie you told in your book?  I might have to buy your book and waste my hard earned money to read what other lies you have in there.  There is little wonder that people refuse to believe that Darlie Routier could be innocent, when authors write such codswallop even when the proof of the lie is obtainable.

The facts of the matter of Devon Rush Routier, Ms Springer, is that the knife did NOT penetrate through his body like you keep lying about.  Not into the carpet and not into the concrete.  Not only does the autopsy report back up my claim, the photographs of Devon also back it up…as does the fact that the knife tip has no defects.  There are no bends in the tip of the knife.  Had it been used with such force through a child’s body, through carpet and into a concrete floor, as stated by you, Ms Springer, the tip of the knife used would show that evidence.  The knife used to murder Damon and injure Darlie contained no impact defects so IF it was the same one that murdered Devon, there is NO evidence there to back up your claim.  Game over Ms Springer.  Time to stop the lies.

In fact, that knife did not even contain the blood of Devon at all according to DNA testing that was done by the State of Texas, so there is the open issue of a possible second knife that has not been found.

This shows that it is obvious that Greg Davis has no clue what happened to Devon and Damon, or Darlie Routier.  He consistently has put it out there that there is no way that Darlie Routier would have slept through the murders of her children, yet now we are to believe that Damon slept through the murder of Devon, when there is evidence of him struggling where he was killed?  We are also to believe that Damon saw who was stabbing him to death?  Bullshit! Damon was face down when he was stabbed to death.  The only thing he would have seen was feet and partial legs, not a face.  He was a child, not an owl.

"I was sleeping"…Darlie Routier 6th June 1996.

Yes, Mr Davis, she was sleeping.  She did not ever state that “I was stabbed in my sleep” or “my throat was cut in my sleep”.  Yes, she was asleep, until someone went into her home, murdered her children and attacked her. Davis, you have no clue on the idea of context…the silly string was testimony to that.  You stated in an interview that you knew she was guilty when you saw that and had her arrested.  Mr Davis, you don’t arrest people on your personal opinion of video footage.

I am also tired of the repeated lie that Damon was stabbed in two places within the home.  That is not true also.  The evidence does not back up that claim,  so WHY is Nabors and Davis still claiming that bullshit?  If that were true, why was Forensic evidence not used at trial to PROVE it?  Where’s the BLOOD SPATTER Nabors?  Where is it? Damon was still alive and left spatter in the area near the couch, so where is the blood spatter from being stabbed, whilst still alive, near the hallway?

On the subject of the hallway, Mr Davis, explain to me why Damon was found around the corner with his head closer to the fireplace location than his feet were?  That does not sound to me like he was heading for the stairs and it doesn’t sound to me like Darlie Routier knocked him over to stab him again. Even David Waddell couldn’t make up his mind if he stepped around Damon’s feet or over them, and considering Waddell came from up the hallway, where was the rest of Damon’s body laying as there were no dismemberments in this case.   Mr Shook, there was NO handprint on that couch.  Thank you for perpetuating that lie.  How could the Routier family have sold that couch with a gaping hole in it from the so called cut out handprint of Damon’s?  Considering Damon walked around the back of the couch to follow his mother.  There’s a photograph of the cut out handprint from the floor.  That is called evidence.  There is no State’s exhibit that proves that a handprint was cut out from any of those two couches.  There was also no proof that Damon’s ‘bum print’ is on the floor.  Why were those couches handed back to the Routier family?  They were evidence?

Why bother to have a profiler on a show where the person they are ‘profiling’ has already been deemed guilty by a jury of their non peers?  Any man and their dog can get up on a tv show and say ‘oh yes, she’s a psychopath’ after the person has been convicted.  Goes without saying doesn’t it?  Maybe you should use Profilers for what they are intended for…that is creating a profile of a person who has not been caught, tried and sentenced by a jury of non peers, let alone sentenced to death.  Anything beyond that is just another persons opinion, and a non expert opinion at that.

You people may think that the general public are idiots, but when you come across someone with knowledge in actual Forensics, not the uncertain guesswork of your police investigators AND so called experts, your argument for the guilt of Darlie Routier comes up very short.  In fact it hits the same ‘possible’ bat that Darlie Routier apparently could have belted herself up with to cause those bruises….yes I do remember that comment Mr Davis.

You people simply have no clue what happened in that house apart from your own fantastical theory.

On June the 6th 1996, it begins with a woman’s pleading voice to a 911 operator.

“Someone came in and they broke in.  They just stabbed me and my children.”

“What?” asked the 911 Operator.

“They just stabbed me and my kids, my little boys!”

Devon Rush Routier, age: 6. Cause of death: Homicide.

Damon Christian Routier, age 5.  Cause of Death: Homicide.

Within minutes a Police Officer arrives at 5801 Eagle Drive, Rowlett Texas.  The scene opens before him as he follows trails of bloody footprints on a plastic floor runner that seems to be a guiding beacon into the unknown.  Within minutes another Officer arrives and an ambulance.  The Officers don’t bother to clear the entire crime scene before allowing the waiting Paramedics into the house.

Hours later and a Crime Scene Analyst enters the house, where not long before a woman was standing at a kitchen bar holding a towel to her slashed throat, blood dripping from an incision that cut to the bone of her forearm and with bruises that would form over the next few days that would show the true horror of the events of that night.  James Cron, Crime Scene Analyst walks through the house and within 20 to 30 minutes decided that there was no intruder.  A mistake that could cost someone their life.  Cron decided that someone who lived in that house at 5801 Eagle Drive, Rowlett, Texas, had viciously stabbed those two little boys to death causing a peaceful sleep to become permanent. Throw into the mix some Police Investigators who blindly followed Cron’s lead.

Enter a Prosecution team hell bent on ‘getting their man’, a video that had been shown on the news of the same woman holding a small birthday party at the graveside of the two boys, forever known as ‘the silly string video’.  A defense team, who replaced a court appointed counsel, headed by a man with the reputation of being the best Defense Attorney in Texas by the name of Douglas Mulder.  Two Forensic Analysts whose results were never offered in court because they were not retained by the new counsel, and a verdict of guilty by a group of 12 jurors who were not even given a timeline of the facts in the case, only the Prosecutions theory of what they believed happened that morning.

Add a sentence of Death by Lethal Injection, and you have the past 15 years of Darlie Routier’s life.

Remember Betty Mahmoody and the book Not Without My Daughter?  We’ve all heard about Betty and her fight to get her daughter out of a foreign country in a horrific tale of parental abduction.  We also know about child sexual slavery.  heard about it, read about it.  Now here is a chance to hear ‘Victoria’s’ story, a woman who found herself in the same horrific situation as Betty Mahmoody, but with a sad outcome so far (I don’t have an update but will try and get one for you) and two of Australia’s top rescuers of children from the horrors of the child sex trade.

‘Victoria’s’ Story

I recently had the pleasure of joining MaryEllen Digiacomo and Gloria Goodwin-Killian for their 4JusticeNow online radio show Women Behind The Wall about a woman named ‘Victoria’.  I won’t go into full details of ‘Victoria’s’ story as you can hear the archive of the 4JusticeNow blogtalk radio show  Victoria’s Story.  You have to hear Victoria speak.

I cried listening to ‘Victoria’ tell the tale of being married to a Moroccan man.  It ended with ‘Victoria’ fleeing Morocco and being forced to make the heartbreaking decision to leave her two children behind.  It was flee alone or possibly die trying to take her children with her.  Listening intently, and in tears, I tried desperately to remember a news report of a group here in Australia who rescue children from child trafficking.   I told MaryEllen via the chat forum during the show that I would find them and try to get some kind of help for ‘Victoria’.  It didn’t take long to find The Grey Man’s website.  I contacted The Grey Man via the website and explained the situation, asking if there was anyone they knew that could help since it is a different area than what the specialize in.  I received a reply from ‘Darren’ (not his real name) who gave me the contact details of a Private Investigator.  We Private Investigators over here deal in many different areas and I have to admit that I was over the moon to find another one who, like me, works in a different area than the ‘norm’, so to speak.  I explained the situation to him briefly and asked if he could help or give advice and was happy to receive an offer of help or advice.  I then passed him onto to MaryEllen and Gloria so that they could put him in contact with ‘Victoria’ and I left them to it.    I pray every day that ‘Victoria’ is getting help now, or at the minimum, advice on what she can do to get her children out of Morocco and home to her waiting arms.

A bit of information that is not commonly known in relation to ‘Victoria’s’ story…Children who are born to a Moroccan parent, even if the other parent is US born and the children are also US born, they automatically become citizens of Morocco.  The first thing I did was find out that information whilst waiting for a reply from The Grey Man.  I was, and still am, stunned!

‘Victoria’s’ story leads me back to the issue of child trafficking rescue operations, because that is what The Grey Man specializes in and I won’t go into details here as we all know too well what it involves as far as the children go.  But do you know what goes into rescuing these children?  Here are two of Australia’s finest groups who fight this injustice towards children.  I’d like my readers to visit their websites and see what is involved to rescue just one child from a life of sexual slavery.  The men who use these children are paedophiles.  They are the most vile disgusting creatures that ever walked the face of the earth and breath our oxygen.  When you visit their websites, please consider donating (even $5 would help) so that they may do what we would all love to be able to do.  Rescue these children and start them on the path to a new life where they are not used for the gratification of men who should know better but choose not to.

The Grey Man

The Grey Man is an international organisation dedicated to eradicating the trafficking and exploitation of children. Their main role is the rescue of children from traffickers. However, early on they realised that rescuing children was not enough. Once they enter sex work they can become socialised to their life there and it becomes difficult to convince them that they deserve something better. Many of them will be physically or psychologically damaged and face the prospect of death from AIDS. The Grey Man realised that they needed to stop them from entering the sex trade in the first place. Based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia their activities are focused on the countries of South East Asia.  The Grey Man have recently opened a chapter in Perth, Western Australia.

Authors Notes: The term Parental Abduction in respect to both Betty Mahmoody and ‘Victoria’ takes form in that the families were both taken to foreign countries, in both cases the country of origin of the fathers.  Once there, the children are not allowed to leave the country.  In these situations, mothers desperate to return home face heartbreaking choices.  Betty was able to find help to get her daughter out, ‘Victoria’ was not so lucky.  She had no choice but to leave her children behind so she could escape.   I ask that my readers add ‘Victoria’ and her children to their prayers so that a successful outcome can be gained.  No mother should be forced to make such a choice.  This is the reason that child abuse makes me sick.  People like ‘Victoria’ deserve to have their children by their side.  Some mothers should never be gifted with children at all. And, of course, that includes those who sell their children into the sex trade!

She walks up to the podium, a tiny figure in the large expanse of the room. Her voice at first is clear. She is eloquent and polite to those there to hear her story. Those with the power to grant her a wish should they so desire. Chances are that they may not, but it’s a 50/50 chance which is far better than any other either way.

I know this woman, she is a facebook friend of mine and I have only met her online. Anti-Death Penalty and Anti-Law of Parties is her equal love. Part of this is her story, but a small part of it is also mine in another sense. She is proof that you don’t have to meet a person in real life to truly like and admire them. I’ve seen her in all kinds of moods in facebook, I’ve seen her going through hell, struggling to survive and be heard and be as funny as heck….all via her written words over the internet. I was hoping that she would be at this Hearing so I was pleasantly surprised when she was called up to the podium. Now I get to see her speak, to feel what she is feeling, to hear her. I prepared myself for something that I soon realized I could never have prepared myself for…

Direct from a heart that has spent many years slowly breaking into pieces, yet is still so strong as the pieces are held together by invisible strings that are made of the finest silk that cannot be seen by the naked eye. But I can tell you that those fine silk strings are dangerous. They have the capability to wind their way from one heart to another, across vast distances and oceans, gathering momentum along the way to reach inside my own heart. That heart sits here now, trying to put into words how I felt as she spoke, as she pleaded, as she cried. As she struggled to overcome her pain, anger and years of torment for her, her beautiful niece, and her family to get the words out.  To tell her story.

This is her pain, her sorrow and her nightmare of being the sister of an Innocent man of Death Row. Of being the Aunt of a beautiful young lady whose father is that same man on death row. A beautiful young lady who has been teased and tormented because of her father being branded a murderer. A beautiful young lady who had tried to kill herself. How do you tell a young girl that she has everything to live for when everything has been taken from her?  I don’t know, but Paige, if you read this honey…know that I love you.  Because you are Jeff’s daughter, because you have been through so much in your life, because you are a survivor of everything fate has thrown your way and because you are who you are.

It’s not the same just in text as it is actually hearing her, but I can tell you that she cried more tears in that short time that it took her to speak than most people have cried in a lifetime. I can’t say much more right now because my heart is crying again, but now it is not crying because of Terri’s words. It is crying with love and admiration for the woman who spoke out against the injustice sentenced upon her brother…This, my friends, is Terri Been, sister of Jeff Wood.

(Transcript of Terri Been testifying on House Bills 2200 and 2511 at the Texas Committee of Jurisprudence Hearing on the 29th March 2011. Transcription by Tracy (P.I) of Civil Investigations Australia)

“My name is Terri Been and I’m here as the family member of a death row inmate. I’d like to start off by saying good evening Mr. Chairman and Distinguished Committee Members. It is an honor and a pleasure to be able to stand before you today to speak about house Bill 2511 which addresses the Texas Law of Parties.

My views on abolition aside, I just want to speak to you briefly about my brother, Jeffery Lee Wood. Sorry (crying). Jeff was wrongfully convicted for capital murder in the state of Texas and he was scheduled to die on august the 21st 2008 for a murder that he did not commit. My brother was convicted under the law of parties even though he was NOT the shooter in the crime and even though he was NOT even present when the murder took place. Further, Jeff had no knowledge that a murder would even be taking place. The actual shooter in the crime Daniel Reneau has already paid the ultimate Texas price with his life, and was executed by the state back in 2002.

Federal Judge Orlando Garcia stayed my brother’s execution. …Thank you (Terri was offered tissues). … just hours before it was to take place finding that the state of Texas had violated my brother’s constitutional right by refusing to provide him with a lawyer that would argue that he is too mentally incompetent to be executed. I cannot begin to tell you what an emotional rollercoaster that this has been on me, Jeff’s daughter Paige and the rest of our family. While I consider my own pain to be great, I believe that my niece, Paige, has suffered the worst.

For many years she has had to deal with kids at school making fun of her and calling her names and worse because news stations report that her father is a murderer. And they’re allowed to do that because that’s technically what he’s convicted of even though he wasn’t even present when that murder took place. Paige even tried to kill herself after viewing the news of her father’s execution date being scheduled on TV. Can you imagine what kind of havoc this continues to cause for her? And for our family? Yesterday was Paige’s 17th birthday and there is not a day that goes by that she does not think about her father or yearn to have him there.

In addition to the emotional torture we have all been through for the last 15 years now, we have also had to deal with the financial burdens that are directly related to this case as well. But honestly we’ve been, happy to make that necessary sacrifice because we know that Jeff is innocent of the crime that he is convicted of.
And what kills us is still is that we were forced to say what we thought would be our final goodbye to our brother and our family member before Judge Garcia gave us the stay. I am still tormented by this and I still have occasional nightmares about seeing my brother’s face over and over and over again on that day was supposed to be his execution date and me screaming, and them taking me out of the room when they’re dragging him away. It is absolute torture! -And what makes it worse is the feeling of helplessness.

Now I don’t know what each of you would do if you had a brother who was factually innocent of murder on death row but I am a certified teacher for the state of Texas and I left my career to save my brother. I want you to know that I did personally collapse when I found out that he had a date and that I am still currently in therapy because of it. My grief was for my brother, yes, but it was also for myself, because that’s the day that I lost faith in our political leaders and the system as a whole. Up until that point we had done everything that the lawyers told us to do, which was to sit back and let the system work, but that system failed my brother, failed his daughter and failed those of us who loved him.

How can a man who never committed murder be labeled a murderer? And further how can anybody in their right mind sentence him to death?

Just last week San Antonio’s former Prosecutor, Jim Milsap, or Sam Milsap excuse me, spoke at the university of Texas and during his talk with the students asked if anybody had heard of the Jeff Wood case and went on to talk about the case facts. Mr. Milsap called my brother the “poster boy” for why the law of parties needs to be changed. He also spoke about the obvious prosecutorial misconduct in our case and how the system needed to be reformed to keep injustices like ours from happening to others.

Now for the record, my brother is unfortunately just one of many who are factually innocent of murder and await their own murder. Randy Halprin, whose wife was here earlier but had to leave, Kenneth Foster, (the Fosters are here), Cleve Foster, who has an execution date of next week, Rudy Medrano, Humberto Garza, Juan Ramirez, Patrick Henry, are a few of the law of parties cases that we have in Texas right now. Fortunately and thank God Kenneth Foster was granted clemency just before his own scheduled execution. And Kenneth is currently serving a life sentence, which to be honest with you is still too harsh of a punishment for driving a car.

And as I previously stated, I am against capital punishment as a whole but, I a registered voting republican and I am anti-death penalty and I want you to know that.

So how is this fair? How is it justice when somebody who has never committed murder can be sentenced to die? The death penalty is supposed to be reserved for the worst of the worst and I urge you to support alternatives that punish the truly guilty and protect society without resorting to state killings.

So today I am here before you and I am begging you to look into your hearts and do the right thing. The taking of a citizens life is a Governmental responsibility far more awesome than the normal bills that come across your desk; and considering this aspect, when it comes to the most serious of tasks instructed to our Government I feel that it deserves the attention of all, ALL of the Texas Representatives and Senators; therefore I humbly ask you to turn this bill, house bill 2511 over to the full floor for a fair and open dialogue.
Thank you.. “

The cousin of Kris Keeran (the murder victim) wants to save the life of Jeff Wood:

“My cousin was the person killed by Danny, not Jeff. I say this as a family member who realized long ago Jeff had no part in my cousin’s murder and he shouldn’t be executed. It’s insane to kill another person who did not kill Kris. The video showed Jeff took no part in it. Jeff was one of my friends growing up and someone I think deserves a chance. If he didn’t kill him, why should we kill Jeff? This is ridiculous.”

Meet Jeff Wood. Jeff is on death row. Not for murdering someone, but for being forced at gunpoint to drive what became a getaway car after the passenger killed a service station attendant and stole the safe.

Full name: Jeffrey Lee Wood
Date of birth: 8/ 19 /74
Convicted: Killing a convenience store clerk during a January 1996 robbery in Kerrville, TX
Convicted under: The law of parties.
Previous record: None

Co-defendant: Daniel Earl Reneau (executed on 06/13/2002)

Short case summary: At approximately 6:00 a.m. on Jan. 2, 1996, while Wood waited outside, Reneau entered the gas station with a gun and pointed it at Kris Keeran, the clerk standing behind the counter. Reneau ordered him to a back room. When he did not move quickly enough, Reneau fired one shot with a 22 caliber handgun that struck Keeran between the eyes. Death was almost instantaneous. Proceeding with the robbery, Reneau went into the back office and took a safe. When hearing the shot, Wood got out of the car to see what was going on. He walked by the door and looked through the glass. Then he went inside, and he looked over the counter and ran to the back, where Reneau was. Wood was then ordered, at gun point by Reneau, to get the surveillance video and to drive the getaway-car.

The original robbery was scheduled for the night before and Jeff had ‘chickened out’. The original robbery was organised by the man who owned the service station and the attendant was not supposed to be killed. Jeff had no idea that the ‘new’ robbery was going go occur the night they did go there. The organiser turned State’s Witness, yes State’s Witness and while you can guess what happened, I am going to tell you anyway…HE GOT OFF SCOTT FREE!!!

You call THAT justice? That man orchestrated the entire original robbery and he was turned loose because he testified for the State of Texas. The man who pulled the trigger has been executed and the one who was forced to drive the car is on Death Row.

The ‘law of parties’ requires one to be a mind reader. See above what he was convicted of, and read what actually happened. Either someone can’t read, or they can’t spell because there is a huge difference between the two following sentences: “being forced at gunpoint to drive a car” and “killing a convenience store clerk”

Juliette and Jaelyn Geurts were growing up in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.  The beautiful twin girls were born on the 2nd of November 2005.  As they grew from premature babies, they developed different personalities.  Juliette was an outgoing, lively little girl full of sunshine and smiles.  Jaelyn, also full of sunshine and smiles, was more reserved.

Life could not be any better for the girls, with doting parents they thrived on the love and attention from parents, grandparents, aunts and family. Juliette and Jaelyn’s mother and father, Charyse and Casey were married a year after their birth, but it was not to last as Charyse kicked Casey out fo the family home Christmas 2007.

Casey joined the army to provide support for his girls futures and upbringing. Over a 7 month period he had sent over $7000 to Charyse to support the girls.

Charyse began a downward spiral into a life of partying, drugs and men, and was three months behind on the rent as well as utility bills.  Two men had moved into the house she shared with Juliette and Jaelyn.  Those men were Dustin Chauncey and Brandon Townsend.

On the 11th of July 2008, Casey Guerts was at army boot camp when he received the call that no parent ever wants to receive.

Juliette had been taken to hospital with a ‘seizure and fever’ at 3am by her mother and boyfriend.  She was sent home with instructions to her mother Charyse to watch her carefully. Charyse said   put Juliette to bed at approximately 4:30am and at approximately 5am took a sleeping pill. She claimed that 7 to 8 hours later, she awoke to a non-breathing and very lifeless Juliette.  Although cell phones were at the house, she went to the neighbours house to call 911.

Three people were in the house in the early hours that Juliette died. Charyse, Brandon and Dustin.

An autopsy was performed on Juliette and it was found that she had multiple blunt force traumas, that include a four inch laceration to her liver.  The manner of death…homicide.

Juliette’s father is leaving on his 3rd deployment soon. 3 years have passed since Juliette’s murder at the hands of one, two or even three people who were in that house.  There are no arrests and all three have left the state of Nebraska.
